Best Enjoyed

The same way you’d enjoy a homemade apple pie – hot and fresh from the stove! This tea is naturally sweet, so give it a taste test before adding your desired sweetener. Elma Chai can also be transformed into a thirst-quenching iced tea. Strain it into a glass jug or tea pitcher and garnish with apple slices and a few sprigs of fresh mint for an extra refreshing kick!

Best Served

In traditional Turkish tulip cups displayed on a beautiful tea tray. Of course, you should also feel free to use your favourite teacups. Whether you’re serving your Elma Chai hot or cold, it’s best to prepare a large batch so you can serve plenty of little refills (and be prepared for those guests who spontaneously pop in).

The natural fruity sweetness and comforting aroma of this rich, spiced delight makes Turkish Apple tea a decadent treat all on its own.

Brewing Guide

  • AMOUNT

    1 tbsp per cup

  • TEMP

    100°C (210°F)

  • TIME

    3 – 5 min

Add 1 cup of water plus an extra ¼ cup for evaporation to a saucepan. Add 1 – 2 tbsp of tea. Bring to a rolling boil. Simmer covered on low heat for 3 – 5 min. Strain into cup. Squeeze the apples for remaining juice. Sweeten to taste. Delicious served hot or chilled over ice.

Brew it the traditional Turkish way

Add freshly drawn ambient water to a saucepan plus an extra ¼ cup for evaporation. Add 1 – 2 tbsp of tea per cup to the saucepan. Cover and bring to a rolling boil. Simmer on low heat for 3 – 5 min. Strain into a teapot or cup. Squeeze the apples for remaining juice using the back of a spoon. Sweeten to taste. If sweetening with sugar, add it while the tea is simmering on the stovetop for a greater depth of flavour. Best served in traditional tea glasses (Turkish tulip cups). If sharing, impress guests by serving on a decorative tea tray.

Or try it as a thirst-quenching iced tea. Simply allow the tea to cool. Strain into a glass jug or tea pitcher with some apple slices and a few sprigs of fresh mint for an extra refreshing kick!
