Best Enjoyed

To take Russian Caravan tea the true Rúski way, add a round slice of lemon to the bottom of your cup before pouring the tea. If you’re a sweet-tooth, you’ll love the Russian way of sweetening tea – eating spoonfuls of jam (especially blackcurrant or raspberry), fruit preserve, or honey between each sip. Let each mouthful of tea melt into the sweetness. If that’s a little too adventurous, you can stir a teaspoon of jam or honey directly into your cup.

Best Served

In your favourite teacups for casual gatherings and your finest china for formal events. If you’re a true china aficionado, you may wish to treat yourself to a Lomonosov tea set – famed traditional china crafted in Russia. In winter, keep your teapot warm with a knitted tea cosy and serve in mugs you can wrap your hands around.

Tea Time

In its homeland, tea flows freely at all hours of the day. With its gentle buzz, Chay is an ideal afternoon cuppa, offering a nice lift to help you sail smoothly through the rest of the day. However, evening cuppas should be reserved for those who can handle a late-night caffeine kick.

Brew it the traditional Russian way

Boil freshly drawn ambient water in a teakettle to 100°C;. Warm a small ceramic teapot by rinsing with the hot water. To serve, pour the tea concentrate from the teapot and adjust to your desired strength by topping up with hot water from the teakettle Sweeten to taste. Try stirring a tablespoon of blackcurrant or raspberry jam, honey or a round slice of lemon in the bottom of your cup before pouring the tea. Best served in your finest china. If sharing, impress guests by serving in traditional Lomonosov tea cups. Enjoy on its own or with pancakes and sip through a sugar cube between your teeth in true Russian style!
